It's Becoming a Hard Slog

I made the Mai Tai and stared at it. There it was, all rummy and waiting for me, daring me to drink. I didn't want to.

I did. Sweet rum.

Mai Tai, meet sink.

Here's What You Need to Make a Mai Tai:
I modified the original homework ingredients with another recipe (Orgeat  syrup was difficult to find, much less pronounce.)

  • 2 oz light rum (or, 1 oz light rum, 1 oz 151, Alan)
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • Mai Tai mix (so I cheated)
  • splash 7-Up
  • cherry

Here's How Anne Made the Mai Tai:
Pour into a tall glass with cherry on top.

Manly or Girly? Muy girly
Appearance: Pale yellow
Consistency: Like juice with a little 7-Up
Taste: Rummy
Stomach acceptance: Grudgingly
Good drink for: Sitting in the cabana, I suppose
Hangover factor: Oh, yes
Would I actually order this in public? Nope

Tomorrow's Assignment: Manhatten
Homework:
  • 1 1/2 oz boubon
  • 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • Garnish: maraschino cherry
